How To Assign Static IP Address on Raspberry Pi? Setting Up Static IP in RPI! A static IP address, as opposed to a dynamic IP address, doesn’t change. In this video, I will be showing you, How to Set Up Static IP Addresses in your Latest Raspberry Pi. The single-board computer Raspberry Pi always needs a static IP address if you want to access it with other devices over a long period of time. My router, when rpi starts, still assigns an address from dhcp for a while. After a few seconds, it sees a static address.
