Will Russia Invade Poland?

Experts are speculating that Vladimir Putin may up the ante and make a lightning attack on Poland. What do you think? Paddy offers his take.

My polish grandfather was working in the coal mines in Scranton Pennsylvania USA. When Germany invaded Poland in 1939 September 1st then Russia September 17th 1939. My grandfather try to go back to Poland he could not make it back so he join the American Military he did six years on a battleship North Carolina as a Navy corpsman. When my grandfather was on his deathbed saying his prayers and polish made all his grandson's promised him if any country invaded Poland we will fight to protect the Polish way of life. My grandfather was a true son of Poland. All the Allies betrayed Poland after the second war. History will not repeat itself there is a big population of Polish descent where I live and we are all ready to go.

A few historical lessons to take note of:
1. Russia has never beaten Poland without help. They needed the Germans in the 18th century and they needed the Germans in the 20th century.
2. The New York Times and the Washington Post are often wrong.
3. Paul Kengor's book The Last Crusader differs with your reading of a White House paper. The US military was in no condition to intervene in Poland in the early 80s, and Reagan was told this.
I don't think Putin will attack Poland. It's bad enough for Russia in Ukraine. An attack on Poland means an invasion of Kaliningrad.
One other thing...Poles will fight like hell, as they always have.

Perhaps I can give you the view of someone born and raised in the UK but had a World War II Polish grandfather (RAF Polish squadrons). We were taught to hate the Russians (my great grandfather was a lieutenant in the Polish army - Bolshevik war), to remember Katyn, to hate the Russians, enjoy pierogi and to hate the Russians. Interestingly enough, many in the UK military (I served in) could not understand my and other Polonia members attitude towards Russia. They thought we were too harsh on Russia.

For years now Poland has not been part of the so called "Warsaw Pact", it is now NATO aligned, very different scenario to the Regan era. If Russia made a move on Poland, I believe Poland would deliver a bigger beating to the Bully Russia than the Ukraines are handing to them. The only thing anybody really fears about Russia is the possibility of using nuclear weapons, that's a genie nobody wants out of the bottle. Excellent video you have presented here. Poland was attacked 7 times by Russia from 1492. In 1920 their storm was unsuccessful, I hope that this time it will be the same.

You have proven to the world that you are a great people. As an American, I believe there should be no reservations whatsoever by my government in invoking NATO article V to defend Poland from a Russian invasion.

The degree of aversion to the occupiers depends on the personal / family experiences of the interlocutor. Undoubtedly, we feel a greater sense of harm in relation to the Germans - most of the Polish victims are their "
achievement". However, no one in Poland will use - forgive me honesty - the idiotic Anglo-Saxon euphemism "Nazi". "Nazi" is no-one. We say "Niemcy" (Germans), "szwaby" (Swabs) or "hitlerowcy".
