Mind-boggling how that, 77 years after the end of WWII, the world seems to have forgotten all the lessons that were supposed to have been learnt from it.

The most chilling similarity is that Putin will not stop at Ukraine just like Hitler did not stop at Poland.

Let's not forget Russia also invaded Poland to meet Germany in WW2. The allies didn't declare war on Russia because they needed Russia to distract Germany. Same thing happened in WW1.

People need to read more history books. This is very much a problem for the world.

We have colleagues working in Ukraine, and receiving messages from them that they have to leave ASAP to safety, it feels so unreal and sad. I hope this madness ends soon!

I’ve seen too many people commenting saying they respect Putin because he’s a good leader. Good leader or not, I could never respect anyone who takes away freedoms from others.

So Putin says that Russia's security is non-negotiable. But what about Ukraine's security? Don't they have a right to peace and security too?

All you have to do is listen to hitlers speech or why he wasn’t going to invade Poland. Putin and hitler are cut from the same cloth

History shows that tyrants need to be confronted early. It may be painful now but it will be much more painful later if we do nothing now.

Some Americans should remember that some Alaskans can see Russia from their kitchen windows. If no-one stops him invading Ukraine then what is next on his list? Poland, Alaska, and whoever he fancies next. Hitler didn't stop when he was requested to.

My 97 year old grandpa today told me this is just like he remembers Hitler started WWII. He was drafted in 1941 and stayed overseas for 2 years straight.

What is often ignored is that the German invasion of Poland went hand in hand with a Soviet invasion from the east, resulting in the dreadful Katyn massacre the next year.

"in 1938, Roosevelt broadcast a personal appeal to Hitler, asking him to halt further aggression. In reply, Hitler ridiculed the president with withering sarcasm"

If Putin isn’t stopped he will keep going. His goal is to rebuild the Soviet Union to the area it use to be before if fell years ago.

The Germans attacked Poland using the Danzig corridor as a pretext while the Soviets attacked Poland from the East.

That's the problem with history, no one learns from it.
