As a life-long experienced earthquake survivor, including the Loma Prieta quake, earthquakes don’t generally make sounds like the boom described, sounds come from damages done such as to buildings. If a boom accompanies the shaking, I’d look into explosions or other subterranean actions like drilling and blasting

Holy crap! That was strong. So the earths core slowed almost to a stop, is changing direction, and all over the world on the same day there are earthquakes. Wondering about that. Makes sense if you think about it.

I was in the 1964 Alaskan Earthquake. Try a 9.2 for almost 5 minutes!

Take care, NY. That was just a kiss, hopefully it won't be back for more...quakes can last a long time as far as aftershocks.

That's not a normal earth quake, that's more like someone playing god, using bombs under ground

I use to live in Schenectady and we use to feel very mild earthquakes but that would be it. It felt like something rolled under our house.

I haven't heard any coyotes howl last night at 2 a.m in a while. So when I heard them last night I just kept thinking California is gonna get an earthquake or somewhere else . And I woke up to the news about 2 earthquakes in elsewhere. I know Cali is next !!

That was not an earthquake. There have been these all over the US
and they are not on the USGS real time monitoring system

For those that live in Alaska, they don't even flinch over something that weak!

The earthquakes on the east coast are different. When we got that earthquake in 2011 it sounded like a sonic boom, but it was an earthquake. Come to think of it the earthquakes in SoCo sounded like sonic booms. You didn't know if they were doing something at Edwards or if it was an earthquake. You got so use to hearing that, you just didn't pay attention to it anymore.

Thats not an Earthquake There be a lot more motion involved And then a strong aftershock which would be more rocking for a longer period of time
