Strongest Earthquake in 25 Years Rattles Taiwan

Taiwan was struck by its strongest earthquake in 25 years on Wednesday, killing at least nine people and injuring hundreds of others. Scenes of water cascading down the side of buildings and debris falling onto the streets below were captured. ⁣#earthquake #taiwan #shorts

The faith that the people have on their engineers is astounding. Keeping calm even on the face of a disaster with the belief that the constructions have been built keeping the future in mind is simply amazing.

After experiencing the SF quake in 89 when bridges collapsed, highways, etc, I don’t ever want to go through that again!! It was terrifying being at work and unable to get to my infant son. Thank God I made it to him that night! My heart lurches every time I hear of these large earthquakes. Thankful for good engineering and the people who help with rescues!

Congratulations to the builders and regulatory bodies. Compared to Turkey's earthquakes where ten's of thousands died, Taiwan is doing a great job of building safety.

Taiwan is built to withstand that magnitude of a quake, and they are doing really well, and are very calm. It makes sense that a building under construction would lose loose building materials in such a quake. The guy in the pool is doing well moving with the waves just enough, but I would recommend he try to get out because what if the bottom drops out of the pool. Nine people no longer with us, but the city did remarkably well. That is good.
