The Wednesday morning commute is going to be a cold one, with temperatures in the low 30s.
Temperatures will warm up throughout the day, reaching the 60s. Thursday will be even warmer, with a forecasted high of 66 degrees.

We have some milder afternoons in our forecast, and rain will hold off until Thursday night.

The days will get progressively warmer, all with above-normal highs.

"[Wednesday] will be the day to get outside," WRAL meteorologist Kat Campbell said. "Starting out with some clouds in the morning, otherwise it should be a fairly nice afternoon." Wednesday's high will be in the low 60s and temperatures will be in the mid 60s by Thursday.

There will be a chance for rain and storms on Thursday evening, but most of the day will be dry. Some counties west of the Triangle are under a Level 1 risk for severe weather, but WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said storms shouldn't be an issue for most of us.

Rain could be dropping off around 9 p.m. and gone by midnight, Gardner said. The rain will be gone by Friday morning, but there could be some fog. Highs will be cooler, in the upper 50s, Friday afternoon. The weekend will be colder, with highs in the upper 40s on Saturday. North Carolina typically sees the greatest chance for snow in January, but there is no chance for snow in the next 10 days, WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said.

There will be plenty of sunshine next weekend, but Sunday will be the warmer day to be outdoors.
