Saskatchewan in 1881 - Colter Wall - Guitar lesson with TABS

Hey folks, here's my tutorial for Saskatchewan in 1881 by Colter Wall. Let me know below if there's another Colter Wall song that you'd like me to work on.

My guitar is in standard tuning with a capo on the 2nd fret. If you want to match the pitch that Colter uses then tune your guitar to DGCFAD and put a capo on the 2nd fret.

The guitar I am playing is a BSG D14F.

Please hit like if this tutorial has helped you, and subscribe to my channel for more guitar covers and lessons

Cheers,
Pete

As a beginner it's a few bars at a time for me, the fingerpickin is very complex for my level but practice makes perfect. Thanks for the comprehensive tutorial sir

Man, this is kicking my ass. It's been some time since I've spent this much time on one page of tablature ha ha. I love it. Thank you for taking the time to write this out! I'm almost there!! ;)

I just wanted to say thank you for this tutorial.I'm in no way an acoustic player (hid behind amp and effects for 15 years) but after discovering colter walls music (Along with Brent Cobb et al) I've decided to treat myself to a McIlroy! So my goal is to have this down before I pick it up. It's taken me an absolute age but with your superb teaching I'm enjoying at least 10 bars of the intro with a month left. Thank you! and please keep them coming. Much love from Belfast

Man, this one is tricky! I’ve been trying to clean up my slopping finger picking, and really incorporate something challenging, and this is a superb tutorial. Thanks a lot!!

Thanks for the awesome tutorial - this is my first 'real' fingerstyle song I've learned to play (and I'm sure I drove my flatmates mad by constantly practicing) so thanks for the help!

As my second finger style song it’s taken me a week of only playing this a couple hours a day and this tutorial has been amazing aha, almost there

Thank you, thank you, thank you -- great lesson -- tabs too! For people struggling with this, it's doable. For me, it has taken months of starting, frustration, stopping, etc. -- especially the intro. Landing the pinky back on the E cleanly after that slide up from 3rd to 4th and cleanly continuing. Also the transition to that thumb reach over / hammer on is tough. Once this is mastered, it's so satisfying to play. TOTALLY worth it.

Why are bars 6 through 9 so much more difficult for my fingers then all the rest of it!! Great tutorial as always Bantham.

Great video. I’ve learnt a few Colter Wall songs thanks to you. None of the tab websites are accurate but you seem to nail each one so thank you 🖤

I started using picks and got a feel of where the picks are hitting which strings without thinking, I think figure style is similar in terms of you have to be proficient enough to know where each figures are hitting which strings without looking

Thank you very much for this. I was 98% finished, but this really helped with the last little section that was troubling me.
