People keep saying "I don't even know what genre this is". Settle down Francis, this here is Country, real Country.

This should be played on country radio but it won't be cuz country radio doesn't play country music any more.

Guys, Let these artists be who they are. They aren't some cheap knockoff of Waylon, Johnny or Merle... Sure, you can see the influence some of the legends have had on these new artists but these guys have just as much talent. This is Colter Wall.... a Legend in the making.

Colters dad. Brad was premier of Saskatchewan.
He drove home to Speedy Creek. 2.5 hours every day after work.
They lived at the end of my street. Brad owned Waylon’s Cadillac. Colter is named for Jesse Colter. Brad thought naming him Waylon was a little much. Lol. Great People.

This guy, Tyler Childers, Chris Stapleton and a few others are keeping real country music alive.

I find his transformation incredible. He must be an old soul. He is actually from Saskatchewan Canada the son of a prominent politician . But he sounds like he was born 100years ago in Texas.

I didn't like country until I found Colter Wall. Turned out I just didn't like bad country.

Edit: got an album from him. While it’s great music, his live sound is unmatched.

His vocals are one thing entirely but the writing is absolutely phenomenal as well

Am I the only person who watches this daily? I HAVE to listen to it. It's honesty, it's raw nature, and the amazing musicianship draws me back day-after-day.

I'm back today for my daily fix....

Respect to that audience silently listening to every note and lyric. Not a single cellphone held up.

I love Colter Wall. But this version is by far the best. The fiddler just adds the little extra on top, if you ask me.

How does one develop the voice of a weatherbeaten chain cigar smoking 65 yr old downtrodden troubadour in 17-20 years??
He's a talented kid for certain and it is refreshing and rare this day & time to experience someone with a new and authentic yet somewhat old schoolish sound, far from the top 40 "pop" music row BS that Nashville dictates for radio play.
I personally can no longer bear listening to country radio anymore because aside from Chris Stapleton, it all sounds like the same crap.
Thank goodness for YouTube, otherwise, I may have never been exposed to Colton, Sturgil and the handful of the current artists who actually have a soul that I very much appreciate and enjoy listening to.
Cheers!
