My great-grandpa, from Germany, immigrated to the US, picked up a wife in Illinois and moved to Saskatchewan in the 1900s, in the literal middle of nowhere. He was shot in the shoulder with a .44 wielded by his neighbor in a classic argument over property line fence location. 😂😂😂

The bad-ass crawled a half mile to a different neighbor's house, the neighbor sent a mounted rider 17 miles to the nearest PHONE to call the doctor who lived another 20 miles away. He lived another 20+ years. 1914. 😮

New to me... Spark up my pipe and enjoy some fine guitar picking and great tune with cool vocals and character. Nice hat, I own 11 western hats.

You probably haven’t heard of him because he is from the city of Swift Current, in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada.

His voice reminds me of Fred Neil, a great folk singer from the '60s...

JMBOY TV, love your content. just want you to know this style of picking is a nod to the late Elizabeth Cotton, Rev Gary Davis and other pioneer blues players albeit with a country flavor as those early black Afro-American players invented it with their own mixture of field yelling blues and some country. What many don't realize is that the blacks and the whites early on were influencing each other form the get go. It's great to investigate that history. Colter is doing a fantastic job sticking with early traditional music both black and white and in between. Why is that important? It's how the music tree works and knowing why deepens and enrichens the experience. The Travis picking technique is attributed to Earl Travis. No doubt he learned it from his predecessors as well. Colter Wall is a breath of fresh air drawing a bee line right back to those early pioneer. Check'm out. Reverend Gary Davis and Elizabeth Cotton

A talented "Picker" can make it sound like two players, maybe three.
