Показать описание
We will be discussing the details of how the BraxRouter Privacy Appliance works and if it's something easy enough to use even by non-techies.

We'll run through the actual details of setup. And then we will discuss the advanced features of BraxRouter related to what it does for protection against hackers, DNS leaks, iPv6 leaks, and acting as a Kill Switch. We will also discuss the Double-NAT, the encryption tunnel, and then compare it to pfSense and DD-WRT.

I'm the Internet Privacy Guy. I'm a public interest technologist. I'm here to educate. You are losing your Internet privacy and Internet security every day if you don't fight for it. Your data is collected with endless permanent data mining. Learn about a TOR router, a VPN , antivirus, spyware, firewalls, IP address, wifi triangulation, data privacy regulation, backups and tech tools, and evading mass surveillance from NSA, CIA, FBI. Learn how to be anonymous on the Internet so you are not profiled. Learn to speak freely with pseudo anonymity. Learn more about the dangers of the inernet and the dangers of social media, dangers of email.

It’s really a shame everyone has to worry about being deplatformed

Yep, non tech here, but learning more. This data is purposely suppressed to majority of population, so it's critical to get the word out to Normie's like me. Thank you!

A very interesting & informative video. I'm a single-person household at home & only have one laptop computer which connects to the internet via a pre-paid mobile broadband internet connection (which is assigned a mobile phone number & basically connects to the internet via a mobile phone call). This connection is made by inserting a USB dongle (containing the SIM card for the internet service) into one of the laptop's USB ports - so it is basically a cellular internet connection.

I don't have any wired or wi-fi internet connection at home at all, & don't really have a need for one - since the only other "device" in my home is my own mobile phone, which has its own small cellular data supply, which comes with my mobile phone plan (& obviously I don't use that when I'm at home - as I can use my laptop's own internet connection while I'm at home).

So I really don't have to worry about visitors to my home wanting to use my home wi-fi - because I don't have any home wi-fi for them to use, or that level of functionality at all.

While I'm not particularly technically knowledgeable - I believe that, given my computer set-up at home, a Brax Router probably would not be of much use to me - though I may be able to put the Brax Bytz VPN to good use on my laptop, even though my laptop has an internet connection which is basically a cellular connection. I'm wondering if the Bytz VPN needs to use any other hardware apart from my laptop itself - can it just be installed as software on my laptop?

Hi Rob, you did a great job explaining how easy it is to install and setup your VPN Router. Then I read some of the comments people posted, and I just have to wonder. To me what is important is not where you got the software or if it is freeware or commercial, or if it is closed-source or open-source, all that is up to you. What is important is how well your VPN service works and how well your VPN Router works, and when something goes wrong how well you respond to it. I am currently with IPVanish for the next year. But I will keep you in mind for when that year is up.

Thanks Rob, purchasing one here in Belgium. Hope that's not an issue, and it can be used worldwide?

Thanks for the video. Can the BraxRouter be powered from a computer, through a USB port, or does it have to be plugged into an electric outlet? If it has to be powered through an electric outlet, then it isn't really portable.

We've all known that Big Tech was Big Brother but it's amazing how orchestrated the grab was.
Hope Odysee lasts a while.

Don't forget to convey that if you go wired, to unplug during thunderstorms. I lost a motherboard twice in the same computer from nearby strikes that went through surge protection and took the motherboards out through the NIC's (of course it took the routers out too, both times). The first time I didn't know better, the second time I was off mountain when the front changed direction too rapidly for me to get back on the mountain top to disconnect and it was so bad I couldn't get out of the truck to get into the house.

Hi Rob. Love the channel and the content! Have you by chance covered using devices like amazon echo or apple HomePod? Or is it even possible to protect ones privacy with these type of devices?

Rob, I have a fairly complex (but not that unusual) home network built around a broadband modem, Unifi USG, Unifi and Netgear Gb switches and Unifi AC-Pro Wifi APs. I use a combination of wired and wifi access across multple sub-nets (IoT, Not, main LAN etc.). And I use a Pi-Zero to run PiHole. I'd like the option of using your VPN solution at the network level and don't <think> that the BraxRouter would suit my particular setup. Is there any info around that may help me better inform myself?
Many thanks for posting this and your other videos, we need someone like you in this age of shameless snooping by big tech.

1. So the brax router is a combo router AND WiFi that connects my wireless devices to internet. Your prior videos showed adding a second WiFi like Netgear behind brax router . 2. I assume this is recommended to cover more distance in the home? 3. If do only this behind the dongle, will I have heat issue and need to do heat syncs for this wired connection? 4. If my current. spectrum first WiFi router is ipv6, will brax router work connected to it without getting spectrum to change theirs to ipv4? Thanks for videos.

Fan of your videos. Contract is up on Verizon and want to plug the holes from nosy neighbors. Not a techie but, critical thinker. Are you for hire for consultation on simple home network for the purposes of buying your equipment? My simple system includes smartphones, TVs, computers, printers?

I live in a rural area where I only have ATT 5GE wireless wifi hotspot through my LGV30 phone. Can Brax router use my hotspot as wifi 1 ? Or does it require a hard wire Ethernet only for wifi 1 ?
