This top fin kit includes the following items and makes setup quick and easy. First, place the tank on a sturdy level surface near an outlet. Then, using plain tap water, thoroughly rinse the aquarium and all its components. Of course, every tank needs some basic accessorizing. Start with gravel and a couple of fun decorative items for your fish to rest on, hide in, and explore. To assemble the top fin Betaflow filter, first attach the housing to the tank. Then, add the filter cartridge and the ceramic rings. Next, attach the heater and the thermometer with the provided suction cups. Be sure to leave the power cords unplugged while the tank is dry. Next, add room temperature water. And don't forget to add water to the filter housing too, to avoid damaging the unit. At this stage, you'll also want to add top fin beta aquarium water conditioner. Plug in the power cords, leaving enough slack to create a drip loop for each cord to avoid a shock hazard. Most top fin filters will turn on automatically. While the cycling begins, go ahead and secure the LEDs. Ensure the lid is seated correctly. Then, switch on the lights. Follow the product directions and always wait at least 24 hours before introducing your fish to their enchanting new home. This ensures the equipment is working properly and the temperature is just right. Your beta buddy will love you for it.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong because the fishes keep dying. Some will start to swim funny like they are kinda floating and some will keep close to the top.

Ever thought about including a small detail.... TO MAKE SURE THE PUMP IS RUNNING (ON) WHEN planning to use the spout to change water geez almost returned mine becuase thought it had to be off and thought it was not working .... gosh and this tank isnt cheap ppl ITS 40

Note: 3 gallons is not enough to have a thriving betta. Opt for 5 gallons, or 10 if you're able
