My recommendation to juniors is to find a niche market and gain as much experience as you can. Let your deep knowledge of specific cultures and nuanced problems set you apart.

Just curious. I have 10.5 years experience in IT as a business systems analyst (my current role is pretty data focused because I'm naturally drawn to it. Plus the data is terrible with 22 different systems...). I graduated in August with a MS in data analytics which touches on Data Analysis & Data Science. What can I do for my next step? I realllly love data and working with it but can't sacrifice taking a salary decrease either. I feel like I'm stuck unless I can somehow work a second job to get more experience as a data analyst/data scientist (I prefer the DS route vs the DA)

Your viewpoint is lacking due to your inexperience in the field. I do hope that those pursuing a career in data analysis do not watch your videos and believe your narrow minded concepts are valid. To be honest, you are damaging others by producing these videos and I wish you would stop. Depending on how many programs I am delivering I run a team of between 5 and 20 analysts at any given time. Data Scientists are of no real use in practical application. Are they useful in modelling and predictive analysis? Yes. But in problem resolution and the development of data solutions they have very limited usage. By encouraging people to become data scientists you are narrowing their usability in delivering actual revenue based solutions and pushing them to try to excel in disciplines they may have no aptitude for.
