Thanos wiped half the galaxy because he thought he was helping them. His planet was full of his speices until they got overpopulated. Thanos was intellegent enough to survive. He may have a son but he thought he was doing good. He ended up regretting some things he did and went back in time to get killed by himself in comics but since he was known as the "king" since he said kings dont beg the youngger thanos realized that and made sure he lost. Leaving Thanos with his misery.

Id say ultron is broken atleast in a way he was basically a newborn child given the mind, power and body of a god right out of the factory while also experiencing full on sentience for its first time.

Thanos wasnt evil. He had crazy ideas but he wanted the best for whole universe. One more example is that he could have used gauntlet to wipe out avengers once for all but he didnt, even tho he might have known they wouldn't accept defeat and come back for revenge.
