Hey There, no problems! Another method to avoid the string slipping is to cross it over the part that's already wound on, after the first complete wind. This will clamp the first section down, and stop it slipping from there... it happens often, especially with the thicker strings!

Hi, The soft end of the string goes through the bridge end, makes it easier to tie off... check out the video from 1.52 for another look :-)

Thanks so much. It's great to be able to type this in and find a video so helpful, thanks again.. Kept me from paying someone to do it, and I live on shoe string budget.. Thanks again and God Bless.

Did you stretch every guitar strings after you put guitar strings back on before you tune it?

I have never found it necessary with the bass strings at the bridge end to put more than one turn on them. With the trebles I will put three turns to ensure they don't slip. Similarly at the tuning end with any string I have never found it necessary to put the string through the roller more than once with the end then going under the string as it comes from the nut. They have always held.

Hi there, a good round-about-height is 3mm from the fretboard on the low E string and 2.5mm from the fretboard on the high E string. Also, these measurements should be made at the 12th fret on the fretboard. Hope that helps! :)

Hey there, the soft end of the string goes through the bridge end, makes it easier to tie off... check out the video from 1.52 to see Keith unroll the string, then poke the soft end through the bridge. So you were spot on! :-)

I had to watch it several times to determine which end you threaded the soft end. No one seems to be covering this or explaining it! I was assuming the soft end would go through the bridge side for making it easier to tie. Why would you make the peg side soft? It would only make it harder to thread and is then cut off?

G'day there, that shouldn't be an issue in this case, as the new strings will exert a similar level of pressure back on the neck when they are replaced! So no need to worry :D

so which part of the string goes into the bridge hole (soft or stif)? I can't see

I didn't think it was recommended to remove all 6 strings at once because of the release of pressure on the guitar yet I notice that you did that. Your comments please.

bad idea to take out all the strings at once. The counterweight under
the bridge (72Kg on average) will weaken the structure: always do 1
string at a time.
