If I may, in today's society I wonder if there's another example becoming more prevalent, the single-mother and her son. Women will absolutely surrogate/mold their son to be the man they desire.
My mother-in-law to be tried desperately to enmesh with my fiance, then manipulated her way in to be "mommy" to her grandchildren from her oldest daughter. This family is dysfunctional overflow! But I have helped my fiance wake up so to speak and see through the mess and grow.

My daughter says a favor my son (first born) there is no love greater than your first baby! He is married now with two little girls, they are coming to visit me and I can barely contain my excitement. Yea, I probably spoil him, and his wife rolls his eyes, but sometimes I think she gets resentful because he will call me sometimes and tells me when things are bothering him. All I do is listen and I especially never give advice unless it something about how he hates the weather and where he is living. I love my daughter JUST AS MUCH but they are night and day different, she sometimes tells me I give my son more favoritism, NOT TRUE
