Control Your Samsung Smart TV with Amazon Alexa

Smart TVs can be connected and controlled with Amazon Alexa or Google Smart home assistants. No need for a remote anymore! Just recently purchased a 55 in TV series by Vizio. Pretty happy with the TV overall. The picture is stunning and comparable to most of the high contrast televisions out today. I am controlling most of my home lighting and the Vizio with a Google home. I can tell it to turn on the television to a particular Channel or tell it to play Spotify to a particular Channel and it'll turn on the TV and do as told.

I followed your video approximately a year ago and it worked. Recently, due to updates from both Samsung and Amazon the services stopped working when I finally realized after feedbacks stating that the skills will have to be "disabled and re-enabled". Hello for everyone trying to turn on Samsung TV with Alexa try this if you haven't already because this help me out and finally I'm able to turn on my Samsung TV with Alexa so I just deleted the SmartThings app on the Google play store and re-downloaded it and add my TV back to the SmartThings app and it now works like a charm. I can do everything like turn off/on TV, change channels, increase/lower the volume etc.

Great video! I do have a question, what do I have to do if I want to video-call someone by using the new echo show but then I want to transfer the call to a tv, do I need a Alexa enabled TV? I can’t find the SmartThings app, i’ve written it in any possible way and I have the application on my phone
