Fixing High DPI Issues in Windows 10

Показать описание
High DPI displays can often result in horrible looking UIs, either tiny little icons or blurry text. This is especially true in many game development related tools including Unity and Inkscape. This is due to the way DPI scaling is implemented in Windows 10, and this video looks at how it can be easily fixed with Windows 10 updated to Creators Update.

For more details on the various different DPI modes, be sure to check out this article:

Fantastic! This solved my problem of horrible, pixelated icons in LibreOffice. In the forums everyone was just banging on about how there was no solution until they released a new update and changed the scaling algorithm or started using SVG icons instead of PNG...

i have a problem, "radeon detected the presence of one or more panels with high dpi values connected to the system. If% 2 is enabled, the resolution will increase and the dpi settings can be customized". My pc specs: I3 10100f 3.60ghz, gpu rx 5500xt 8gb, mobo h410m-hdv/m.2, 16gb ram (2x8) 2400, f500w, ssd 500gb. Visual details look pixelated, please help. Monitor lg 24 1920x1080 75 hz.

FINALLY! a good fix. Thank you! Although: it would have been better to give us the short-and-sweet how-to version first, and then talk about the inner workings of DPI. Or make separate video just on the details. Not everyone is interested in the deep-tech stuff. Also, short-and-sweet how-to description in the, hm, description below the video would be helpful to lots of folks, I recon.
Anyway, fixed it for me, thanks again!

★★★★ How about those application that has no setup like that. Example Visual Studio 2017, same issue that you showed up, but when I right click and look for that DPI set to application, aint got that.

5:35 It appears that the Compatibility tab is not available for applications which are already modernized and/or high-DPI aware. For example, the tab is not present for Visual Studio. Here's some additional reading which may help.

Thanks for the info, but what if in the app settings I don't have a Compatibility tab? I'm having problems with a Windows Media Player and the Windows version is 1803, so the tab should be there?

Unfortunately for Unity it fixes only main menu now. It doesn't have proper DPI scaling in Windows. In 2018... Yet...

Outdated, even though the solution works so far that the icons that are too small are at normal size, the resolution suddenly changes (from 4k to not even HD) in SolidWorks.

So I got this new hp omen gaming laptop and it came with 125% scaling (1080p 15 inch screen) and windows at desktop looks normal, but all applications are blurry. So I switched to 100% scaling and now everything looks normal EXCEPT everything is so tiny!! I can't see anything. How is this a problem in 2019? And seriously please tell me a permanent fix.
