Yet I am yet to talk to a customer of them that complained about it. Most even mentioned that when the bike would have an issue they would come pick it up for you to fix it! Even in countries like Portugal.

The business model may have not been sustainable in the long run and they may have bet wrong on such an agressive approach but it is always so easy to criticise in hindsight, isn’t it?

Buying a sleek e-bike with fully proprietary parts is a bad idea. Are you going to be able to get parts in 5-10 years time? Unlikely, it'll just become e-waste like old phones, etc.

There are hundreds, never mind that, THOUSANDS of start up bike brands and other generic cheap rebranded bikes and in two years after purchase the vast majority are going to be on the scrap heap as so much waste for recycling.
We NEED the major car companies like Ford, Volkswagen and Toyota who have the skills, knowledge and capacity to get into the game and produce good quality bikes by the millions at affordable prices.
Paying 6-10, 000 £€$ or whatever for a quality bike that's only worth a fraction of that compared to what you would pay for an absolute basic ecar is ridiculous.
Hopefully the Chinese will be able to flood the market with well made affordable alternatives if nothing else happens.
