BMW M3 VS 335i Compared! Which One Is Right For You?

So I recently got a chance to drive the incredible E92 BMW M3! I absolutely love the car but I thought it would be interesting to compare the two cars and see what everyone else's opinions are as well!

Just to be clear I do NOT side with one car over the other, I absolutely love both! But keep in mind the amount of extra gas money you'd spend filling the M3's V8 would outweigh the cost of almost any 335i repair, just saying. Hope you all have a great day!

Ive had both, e92 335i and my current e92 m3 and when it comes down to it the 335i just feels like a fast but basic car. When you get into an m3 and start the s65 you know at that moment you're driving something special. The feel of everything, the way it drives, just everything feels so on point. Id recommend you try both cars in order to decide as they are 2 different animals.

love the 335i, but the e92 m3 is on another level performance wise, exhaust, and status! if you got a 335i and still wanna go with BMW as your next car purchase, moving up to the m3 is a logical decision, its just a different lane, even hailed to be better than the new m4 which I also like, but the e46 m3 and e92 m3 is just pure history! cars that will always be brought up during best m3 discussions!! love your vids, been a sub since the beginning!

I owned both and there is no comparison. The e92 M3 is elite! I use my M3 as as daily driver, much like I drove my 335i for 7 years. 335i is a more practical car around cost, but M3 will make you smile every time you drive it. It is special car that I plan to keep for a very long time.

Helpful. I'm a 335i E93 N55 owner whose gone through all the typical performance mods, but still wonder if the move to an M3 is right for me. You helped to quantify the difference for me, making the decision easier. Appreciate it.

You need to drive an E60 M5.... you think the v8 is amazing wait till you hear the v10 scream.

Stock turbo cars like the 335i will always be easier to gain more hp. Simple tune and intercooler upgrade is easy 400hp. The m3 e92 on the other hand is a high revving NA motor. Power is very linear. And that high revving v8 sound. Both are good cars. Side note, the 335xi is like a euro skyline r34 gtr.

how hard is you think to tune a 335i as a better track car by adding a LSD, better suspension, etc? Do you think that the outcome would be enough to match a stock m3??

In my opinion you dont buy a 335i or an m3 to look at the fuel consumption. Owned a 335i N54 with several mods and now own a M3 e92 and the overall experience in the m3 ( sound of the v8, DCT, suspension ) are better. The V 8 at 8000 rpm sounds like it wants to kill you!😜Maintainence is a little bit more expensive but the m3 holds a much better rest value over here ( Netherlands ).

great to hear about the fuel economy differences. I think people get blindsided when getting an m3 over a 335i or 335is.. much lower costs and all the power you really need

Just inherited a 2011 335i M Sport from my dad 5 months ago when I got my license. Just fucking awesome! I'm so happy he didn't get an M3. There is a kid at my school with a 600bhp AWD 335i N54 and he is thinking of upgrading the turbo to make 900hp, its his daily driver. I am keeping mine stock. However I'm not understanding why everybody is hating on the 335i for reliability. Maybe they are hating on the N54, but the N55 has absolutely zero problems after crossing the 26 thousand mile mark yesterday. I drive it daily, and I will be driving it daily for many years to come.

Stop complaining about gas mileage! Your gas is super cheap. Where I live (netherlands), I pay 1, 70 euro's per liter for regular gas. Takes 120 euro's (70 liters) to fill up my tank. Equals 141, 56 dollars. I don't think you will be complaining anymore about gasmileage ;)

So 2 questions, do you think you will get the chance to put your 335i with the paddles vs another 335i with a 6speed i would love to see that. Because im looking for a 335i manual convertible. i wonder how the heavier car(convertible stick ) would handle vs coupe paddles.
Second question have you had any trouble with smog yet with your new tune.
