The M3 was so much brasher and a lot more fun, but the 335i is more refined and a better every day car - my GF hated the M3 for being such a BEAST but I loved it for that!

@Mikerlord i know ive owned both. the problem isnt the car being 10 years old its just that the e46 is NA and needs a supercharger or if your loaded a turbo kit like hpf inorder to become a fast car where as the 335 needs a tune and some bolt ons. stock turbos FTW llol

@Rico85 im not comparing BMW to Ferrari, my point is the ammount of money spent on a car doesnt necc affect the reliability of it. a 10, 000$ honda will be more reliable then a $200, 000 lambo or ferrari. does that mean that il take the honda? lol no i wont. id rather deal with more frequent upkeep and have a car that puts a huge smile on my face when i hit the gas.

@comacow02 of course, for 335 chip-tuning is enough to gain abt 400 hp when for athmo engine You have to pay much more to receive better performance.

@CHRISZTRON - I believe it's SPACE GREY - Same as the 335i that I owned.
For the record I also owned both a 335i and an E46 M3, both automatics. Differences in straight line acceleration were small, the European M3 has 343 HP due to a more sporting exhaust, however the 335i is slightly lighter and argueabley has a better/newer auto-gearbox. The wider 19" rims and amazing M3 suspension gave much better handling over the 335i.

@Mikerlord i was just saying a 335 is more cost effective with mods. i had an e46 m3 and have an e39 m5 and a e92 335i. all great cars. i just like the turbos so much better because of the surge u get on boost. no point in comparing an e46 m3 and a 335 in my opinion. an m3 can handle and a 335 chipped is straight line effective.

@Rico85 there free for 10 years and 100, 000 miles so i dont really mind. and i have never had single issue for over 20, 000 miles on high boost.

You car (it's a beautiful car in my opinion) with almost 100 horsepower more than the M3 it's slower form 0 to 200 km/h....it's a quick car, i know...but maybe it's not so quick as the m3 that has 107 horsepower less...And Unfortunately i haven't an M3 and i don't live in LA... :(

@comacow02 very true! Its all personal preferences really. I dont like turbos (think theyre cheating) but others love them, thats just it lol And yes a chipped 335i on a real circuit track would lose to the M3 especially the CSL while the M3 would lose on a dragstrip. That doesnt mean the M3 is not fast though!
