Rarer than shinies? I've never encountered a shiny in my entire life and my whole team and three Pokemon in my box in moon have pokerus.

For those that are wondering, pokerus became easier to contract/spread once wondertrade, online trading, etc. came about, which is why most of you are seeing it more often than shiny pokemon.

I remember playing Pokemon Emerald, and my Combusken got Pokerus. I was so terrified I actually stopped playing Emerald, thinking that something terrible had happened to my Pokemon.

I can't believe pokerus is so rare to encounter in the wild, cause I remember contracting it *twice* back when I played Pokemon Platinum. It was also back when I was little, so I had no idea what it was, and it scared me XD

I remember when I was playing Omega Ruby with a friend, and my whole team had pokerus. I turned and I went *¨WHAT THE HECK IS POKERUS¨* needless to say, she sorta explained what it was, and now at least half of my pokemon in my ORAS files have pokerus.

I got a Lv. 100 Vespiquen with pokerus through Wonder Trade O_o I gave the guy a Lv. 5 feel kinda bad

You don't absolutely have to have the pokemon with pokerus in you first slot-- it's' actually easier to put the infected pokemon between 2 not infected ones, the battler does not have to be affected. Within 3 or 4 battles at the most it will infect both pokemon! Plus if say pokemon in slot 3 got infected and slot 4 was not yet infected, it might spread it while you're battling :)

i’ve been playing pokémon since i was in like the first grade, i’m 19 now and only just discovered this after my luxray caught it in my pearl version cartridge. and i’ve literally never caught or encountered a shiny before so wow

I've caught a shiny tentecool in platinum and I caught pokerus in fire red. I didn't know anything about it though and ended up letting it go to waste. Poor salamance was the only one with it

Your pokemon can also catch pokerus from fighting a wild pokemon with it

Damn i was stupid... I have Pokemon Ruby and one of my pokemon got pokerus, BUT the battery in the card died so clock based events didn't work so it wouldn't go away and it just spread to all of my pokemon....
