JWST finds very early galaxies that should not exist

Scientists have discovered from the Webb telescope’s first dataset that galaxies with over 100 billion stars existed just 700 million years after the Big Bang, which is millions of years earlier than we believed they came about. In ThePrint #̦PureScience, Sandhya Ramesh explains how this finding changes our understanding of the early universe.

I am not from astronomy, but definitely from an r and d background. I liked that you are coming up with excellent content on S &T. It's rare in Indian media. All the best

This is great content. Hardly anyone speaks about it in the India media, leave alone taking the pain to add illustrations.

May be there is a larger mega-universe in which there was the natal point at which our universe was born. That would be amazing. Hope someone comes up with required maths.

Big bang is a hypothesis not a law madam. Nothing is impossible as our understanding of universe is very very primitive. Let's discuss this in a million years from now as things will be very clear to answer all these questions.
A million years in the timescale of just this planet is less than a fortnight of human lifespan(100 years), I'm being very reasonable here. Till than lets enjoy this show with lots of coke and popcorn. Let's begin

So big bang is a lie because it’s impossible to have matured galaxy and with that much stars

This proves we human knows little to none about the spaces

Thank you for an interesting video!
I'm guessing the phrase, "this is how" has been said times beyond count, when the words "we think" should wisely been added. Science is sometimes lax in conveying that idea, and for that matter, ideal. We need to stop stating some of scientific theory as fact, when much of it is truly just well informed and educated mathematical calculations, observation, and supposition. I love science, and we should never stop trying to figure it all out, but we often get ahead of ourselves.

How come you didn't mention the possibility that the age, or more lightly put, our understanding of the age, of the universe is simply wrong? Why do so many scientist refuse to even acknowledge that as a possibility?

God created the heavens and the earth. All the scientists gonna do is expand time further LOL. The answer is God created it

We are just starting. We have so much to learn about astronomy

Big Bang Theory was wrong. Something else created those galaxies and universe.

Scientists thinking they "know" anything is so funny xD. We just keep proving more and more that science is NOT the end all, know all concept.

You all can read the book "Easy Journey to Other Planets, " great book. Only 64 page book.

The universe is exactly 13.7 billion years old! The Astrophysicists & Cosmologists won’t budge on this but the JWST is pulling the rug out from underneath them. Humans can barely tell you what they had for breakfast 3 days ago let alone tell you the age of the universe. We haven’t even explored the depths of our oceans. It’s ok to be wrong & flexible with our assumptions, in fact that’s how you learn!!!

Mam will universe contract to the point of singularity again ? Because there might be a limit on how much universe can expand. At some point, driving force behind universe expansion will be neutral and universe will fall back to singularity and again big bang.

We already knew there were issues with the standard model. It only stands to reason that the error is more noticeable the farther away we look. Are you astonished to see something you did not expect? The arrested Galileo for that, you know?
