In this episode, we will show you how the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has made a stunning discovery that nearly 90% of the galaxies in the early universe had extremely bright gas clouds that outshone the stars within them. We will explain how this finding could help solve a mystery that threatens to break cosmology, which is how the universe became transparent to light after the dark ages. We will also describe the future prospects and challenges of the JWST and the early universe research.

This is the "stuff" that makes science FUN! I love trying to wrap my brain around not only how BIG the Universe is, but how small Quarks & Dark Matter, (etc.), are. The opposition of sizes (large & small) is fascinating!

For me fun and interesting is an understatement.

I think that every part of this is nothing less than awesome.

Just the act of trying to absorb these laymen's explanations of the current astronomical findings is even more exciting than it used to be.

It's better than good quality fictional entertainment imo.

I'm trying to say that it feels like a great bonus benefit that
these space telescopes like Hubble, JWST, and Euclid are making an already interesting subject like analyzing the cosmos even more fun.

Imo.

And the reason why some galaxies spin, like our Milky Way does, is because the 1st star was either in a fast spin or a slow spin, as why those galaxies look the way they do. If a star is spinning fast when it goes boom, then its debris will also follow that rotation.

I totally agree that religion is not the topic of this channel. It's about science. Enjoying these mind blowing discoveries doesn't mean you are not a Believer.
Just appreciate the discoveries.

I'm not sure that our way of looking at and analyzing the cosmos is the right one.
What we currently call the universe is so immense and much larger and complex than we could have imagined until some years ago.
I can well imagine that the recordings recently shown by the magnificent JWST also belong to another universe, or rather to another part of our multiverse. This would mean that the transitions from one part of the multiverse to the other are flowing, much like the Voyager 1 probe currently did when it entered the interstellar space.
At the moment I can hardly imagine these fully grown galaxies at the very beginning (or what we previously called the beginning) in any other way, especially since they also have completely different shapes and characteristics than current galaxies.
So I have a certain intuition that our universe is already a multiverse...

So we got clouds shrouded in dark matter but now we got clouds that are super bright... Yeah do they co exist?? Also could the radiation pressure explain the rapid expansion that occurred early on??

The gas that formed the first stars was not hydrogen, but a mix of loose floating protons, neutrons, and electrons as the first atom itself was formed in the first few large 1st stage stars.

I wonder if Webb could find anything of merit in a globular cluster? There doesn't seem to be any new research going on about them.

Funny thing is I have been telling my grade school teachers that back then, and that was over 40yrs ago, been telling them all that they was all wrong about the big bang.

This is really cool and thank you for posting this video. I'm sorry that there's a lot mouth breathing science deniers hear that she's not to learn anything and instead prefer to shout their religious beliefs, as if they know exactly how the deity they believe in chose to create the world or how long a day would be to a deity.

So all we been told in school was wrong on how galaxies formed, they formed after from all the dust from that star, combining to form new smaller stars like ones we see now.

That means the galaxy did not form before the black hole, as before the massive black hole was a massive star

You know why, it's because galaxies is nothing more than the dust from a massive supernova of the large star that was once there and now left behind the super massive black hole in its place, over time 90% formed new stars and left behind a few dust clouds we call nebulas.

This is not the forum to preach. Science is from god and god made science possible through evolution of our minds and knowledge but your comments don’t celebrate this video’s wondrous discovery. God wouldn’t want you to bully your views onto others. You are not being a good Christian

What caused the Big Bang? I say broccoli. Why else would the early universe have so much gas?

LOL!
Who are we,
To say how bright,
The galaxies should be?
