As a welder, this is called laser welding. I tested it a few months ago. And it’s a laser that melts the base metal and adds feeding wire to the puddle. The metal in fusion is protected from oxidation by argon gaz.

Often used to weld sheet metal
The welds are actually very strong and it takes very low skills to master.
We did a break test on a 90º angle weld 3mm thick steel and the weld had a 1.3mm penetration, and held up very well. Enough to meet our requirements
The machine itself cost around 14k. But it is 4 to 6 times more productive than TIG welding and you can achieve prettier welds than with a Mig welder.

Downside: the price is high and the torch is too bulky to do certain tasks. And the machine is big.
Can’t do root passes and not worth it for >5mm thick materials.
Laser, means, you need a special enclosure or room to prevent your coworkers from getting eye damages.

Upsides: no skills needed, crazy fast. No or low cleaning needed after welding. Very aesthetic welds. Consistency.

Ok i think i gave you every information i know about this machine

Edit: i did not receive any gift card so stop asking

That’s a laser welder, they can be used on thinner metals and hold really well for sheet metal applications

Its a real welder. On sheetmetal it works well to prevent warpage as it heats and cools faster then mig or tig. There is also no need to clean the metal as the lazer engraves/deoxidizes it as it passes unlike other welders that push heat and filler in. When used correct on sheet metal or aluminum, when bent the weld is stronger then the metal used and will break before the weld. On thick metal the weld breaks like a twig
