Advantages of laser welding machines

1. The laser welding machine is fast and deep in welding, with narrow and almost no deformation in the weld seam, resulting in less processing capacity in the later stage.

2. Laser welding machines can weld various types of materials, including metal materials that are difficult or even impossible to weld, such as electric welding machines and argon arc welding machines. They can also weld two different types of metal materials, as well as non-metallic materials such as organic glass and ceramics.

3. Laser welding has strong agility and flexibility, with a large space for use. It can weld materials with special shapes other than ordinary shapes, as well as parts that are not easily accessible.

4. The spot size of the laser welding machine can be adjusted, and in small and micro welding, it can focus very small spots for precise welding.

5. Laser welding machines can achieve large-scale automated production and save costs.

6. Laser welding machines have no welding conditions and can perform welding in various weather, temperature, and environment.

It really is an art to make such terrible seams with such good welding machine

as a welder for 836 years, i’d say this is a really good tool.

professional welders are going to absolutely hate it when these get cheaper. low skill/unschooled labor can now weld almost anything lol

Everyone asking price, 7-10Gs on Amazon for a Chinese unit, there is an American company that makes machines starting at just under 30G, best machine is 60 grand.

MMA, MIG, TIG have been around for decades yet most of the work still uses MMA/stick because of low price.Higher income countries use MIG and TIG .Laser will be another addition where the top pros will use.But it will be still good for all.

Less distortion with laser vs arc is similar to less distortion with arc vs gas. Gas welding has much lower temp than an arc, but you can’t focus it so you generate more heat and more HAZ and more distortion and takes longer to weld. Lasers have higher temps, but are more focused and generate less heat. Heat and temperature are not the same. A campfire has way more heat but way lower temperature than an arc from a stick welder.
The laser’s ability to deeply penetrate into materials results in purer, stronger welds than traditional welding techniques. Not only is laser welding typically stronger than MIG, it’s three to ten times faster, welding relatively thick joints with ease, all without requiring multiple passes or high heat, which can diminish the strength of the welded materials.

I hope that’s not for structural welding cause I would never trust those welds to hold weight but metal work for restaurants or something I would trust that

The person doing these weld isn’t joining the welds from start to finish and also lacks uniform, which can both be critical for structural integrity. I know the person operating it doesn’t do it justice but these welds would not pass as being structurally sound. However I believe the laser technology being used could be very effective and efficient if used for sheet metal welding 🤷🏻‍♂️.
Also I don’t know a whole lot about this laser welder but I am a time served welder fabricator, enough to make an intelligent observation haha

I have a question about penetration. Does this wield penetrate and hold? I can tell with aluminium having only worked with aluminium screen printing frames. But not with steel.

So how does it work do u put gas bottle on it and do u still have rods thinking about getting 1 i have never welded ever can some 1 please explain how it works

Wow, it’s like that laser welder from Alien films

Why china welds dont last- they dont use clean metal. Laser welding might not need to be cleaned though. Im not familiar enough to say, however any welding i have done, clean metal is fundamentally important.

Does anyone know how good penetration is with this method compared to mig or stick? Looks too fast to really get in there but maybe if you preheat the hell out of it? 🤷‍♂️

This looks to only penetrate a milimeter. Would work good on thin steel/aluminum, but as far as 1/8”+ thick steel would be very bad because it’s not causing enough heat to get a deep enough and strong enough weld for something structural

I love watching welders. We don't have enough of them, at least in michigan.

Should be stacking beads at least two more runs out there to have that needs for the simple fact that the structure of bead material is really small it looks almost like a tig welder
