They all have their application, but you can stick weld in the wind and the weather. You can hear the wind in the video. No one‘s tigging outside

Stick welding is self annealing and extremely strong. Tig is brittle and hardness can lead to cracking. My point being is ideally tig is designed for lighter wall thicknesses process, where as stick is a process thats conducive to metals 2mm in thickness and above . So whatever is best process depends on appropriate application to the appropriate gauge materials . Ideally a tig root pass with a stick fill and cap is the best application and combines both processes.

I use whatever machine is best for the task at hand and that means all of them sometimes.

I've done it all and stick is probably my favorite. When you get it right it's so much more rewarding. At least to me, everyone is different.
