Rule of thumb diy homeowners or lazy plumbers use shark bites

So when you go to turn the valve the whole thing spins, that's what Shark Bites do. 1/4 turn valves freeze up more often then multi-turn valves. Multi-turn can be repaired where 1/4 turns have to be replaced. If the supply line goes bad now you have to replace the whole valve again. Straight Stop would have made a less awkward bend in that supply line.

Why would you use a shark bite or push connect instead of a compression valve and on top of that why a angle valve? I am also not a fan of the combo valve and supply.

For all the people who discrediting this guy, how about shutting up and show everyone how it’s really supposed to be done. The man is just showing one of many ways to repair faucets, you guys act like you’re paying him to repair your personal faucets. Everyone got something to say, until it’s time to shut up and prove yourself. Most of ya’ll wouldn’t know how to sweat and solder copper pipes if your life depended on it. There’s more ways than one to repair plumbing fixtures, there’s no such thing as only one way. My grandfather who was a plumber since WWII didn’t like copper pipes and thought it wasn’t as dependable as galvanized pipes. Well someone came along and tried something different and now it’s industry standard. My grandfather used to have a threading machine in his truck so he could thread pipes

Sharkbites are worse than propress, they rely on a rubber o-ring to seal.

Go with copper and brass, always. Pro-press or sharkbite a ball-valve if you need to turn the water off, but other than that, ALWAYS SWEAT

👍🏻😁Aww no fancy pro press or compression fitting? I see so many shark bites in houses now and used by businesses that I really don’t care when the plumbers on social media rag on them and show off their pro-press skills
