How to Create Partition on Windows 11 - Partition Hard Drives.

Partitioning your hard drive is a great way to organize your files, folders, and applications into multiple virtual drives. Although there are advantages to having multiple physical drives, the rise in multi-terabyte hard drives has changed the game. Partitioning a single drive is a viable method to give your system that multi-drive functionality with plenty of space on each, without shelling out for a second drive.

If you just bought a new drive and want to split it up, you must partition it before using it. Whether you have a new drive or want to partition an existing one, the process is much the same. Fortunately, learning how to partition your hard drive using Windows 11 is quick and easy.

Issues addressed in this tutorial:

Ever wish you could split your hard drive in two? Maybe you want to encrypt a portion of your drive for sensitive files, or maybe you want do dual-boot Linux alongside Windows. It's actually easy to do, and all the necessary tools are built right into Windows.

This process is called partitioning your drive, and in fact, your drive is probably partitioned out of the box: the majority of the drive is occupied by the C: partition, but most PCs also have a small "Recovery" partition that can help repair your system if something goes wrong. If you aren't using all the space on your C: drive, here's how to divide it into multiple partitions for other uses.

This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 11 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, and Samsung.

Do we really have to shrink C drive in order to create new ones? Can't it be done without reducing C drive's space?
