One thing regarding Connecticut is that they're done reporting for this viral season, as stated on the lower left portion of what's shown at 16:44, with the May 30 update being their last this season). They won't be reporting again until the fall (last year, they did updates in September in preparation for the the beginning of the viral season, which begins there in October).

Another reason why the New York numbers rise on Thursday is that, with a 3-day delay in reporting, what they report on Thursday are the Monday numbers, with Tuesday and Wednesday being the days on which they report numbers from the weekend days, meaning the numbers reported on Tuesdays and Wednesdays always figure to be the lowest in a typical cycle there.

I'm in Southern California, even in southern California the mask thing is over for good here.

Spent about 5 hours in the er today on the big island. Lots of people in masks. Lots of employees in masks. Not everyone.

So many sick people. When I was young the only people you saw in the er were physically injured. Now it's mostly sick people.

They asked me if I wanted a flu and COVID test. Sure why not. I asked if everyone is tested and was told no only those with specific symptoms and even then some refuse the tests. Nice.

Was glad to have my n95 on. Still convinced I went in for one thing and came out with covid.

I still can't believe how bad my state is with wastewater numbers.

Kind of funny seeing the shout out to the North Branch area in Chicago, the area where I am currently sitting 🙂nice to know somebody is keeping up with the waste water monitoring around here! I was one of 6 N95s on a CTA bus recently, which is always good to see. The overwhelming majority are out there not masking though. Thanks as always for the update!

Current wave is really proving to be small compared to the past. The ceiling of hospitalizations is extremely low.

Geert Vanden Bossche warned about that! Keep safe and health!

Chicago is weirdly obsessed with water reclamation. I assume if your city burns down, you care about it a lot. But we vote for a water board and they tend to be engineers and green party candidate. They're even considering reversing the flow of the Chicago River for environmental change reasons! They're very cool.

My neighbor is sick every time I turn around. She’s had at least 3-4 covid infections and her most recent illness is “atypical pneumonia”. She’s mid 40’s and WFH. 🤷‍♀️

I still wear a mask in public and I get harassed by people because they don't want me to wear one. 😂
