For those interested, Ruǎn Méi (阮梅) is a Chinese name. Ruǎn 阮 which is a traditional Chinese plucked string instrument. Said instrument happens to be her weapon of choice and can be seen in her splash art. As for Méi 梅, it refers to the tree colloquially known as the "plum blossom, " prominent all over East Asia for symbolizing perseverance and hardiness due to the plant blossoming in the winter cold.
