Petersburger Marsch [German march]

The "march from Petersburg" or Petersburger Marsch is a military march, which has been common since the 1830s, but for whose origin there are various indications. It was probably composed by Erik Eriksson.

Fun fact: In Finland this is called Suomi-marssi(lit. Finland march) since it was composed by a Finn under russian rule. Nikolai I liked it so much he later gave the march to Friedrich Wilhelm III

Mein Großvater hat die Noten zu diesem schönen Marsch seinem Musikverein gestiftet. Er wurde dann im Jahre 1960 bei seiner Beerdigung auf dem Friedhof gespielt. Unvergesslich!

It says German version because this march is from Finland. Im surprised at how many dont know this, but since its such a good marching song i understand why people think its prussian. Prussians made some of the best marches.
