The St. Petersburg March or St. Petersburg March is a military march that has been around since the 1830s.
What is certain is that the Prussian prince and later German Emperor Wilhelm brought the march from Saint Petersburg to Germany in 1837. It is said to have been composed by music sergeant Erik Eriksson (other spelling: Eric Ericsson; 1806 – c. 1840), who belonged to the marching band of the Finnish Guard, which belonged to the Russian Empire. Eriksson was awarded a gold watch by Tsar Nicholas I for the march in 1837. As a result, it became known in Russia as the Column March of the Finnish Guards Rifle Battalion. The Finnish bandmaster Lenni Linnala (1878–1947) believed that he had proven Eriksson's authorship and thus the Finnish origin of the march, which has since been known there as the Finnish Suomi-marssi (Finland March).

The way the video goes from the germans marching to the front happily then to trench warfare with the explosions in sync with the beat is so well done and poetic 👍

Can I use this for my model railroad series? I have a locomotive named St. Petersburg (after the city in Russia), and I would like to use this as his theme.
