The Marsch aus Petersburg ("March from Petersburg") has been widely used since the 1830s, however its origins are not exactly clear. What is certain, though, is that it was brought to Germany from Saint Petersburg in 1837, by the Prussian prince Wilhelm, who would later become the first Emperor of Germany.
Performed by the Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force Band.
The accompanying painting depicts a military parade in Saint Petersburg in 1855. It was made by Adolphe Ladurner, a French artist of German descent.

This was actually written by a Finn Erik Wilhelm Eriksson of the Finnish guard regiment of the Russian army. In Finland its known simply as the "Finland march".
