I compare the cheapest graphics card on Amazon to the cheapest AM5 APU and it did not go well for one of the two.

I remember back in the day, I put a GT 710 into my wife's Ryzen 3 2200G system, and the graphics performance decreased. I don't remember what I did with that GT 710, but it didn't stay in that computer!

Could've been worth getting a used GTX1050 and 1650 (2 very popular budget cards from a few years ago), and seeing how they compare; the 1650 is still in 4th place on the Steam hardware survey!

Compared to whatever Nforce chipset the motherboard had it was a day and night difference.

Hey Dawid, avid watcher here with some info for APUs:

- Performance is HEAVILY dependent on the RAM speed and config as it is used as the VRAM. Quad channel is usually recommended. EDIT: Quad is NOT possible with Desktop APUs, thanks to the commenters below for the correction.
- It looks like the amount of RAM allocated to the APU was very small?
- Related to the above, the APU was probably hanging on the first board on load due to low memory allocation and what was allocated being filled in seconds or far too low.

Man, my first gaming PC used an AMD A10-7850k, which could barely run Battlefield 3 at low in 1080p, APUs have become pretty incredible.

Just got another RX 6600 for €176 brand new from a local store. The Ryzen 5 8500G is around €166 here.
For me it's an easy choice, the RX 6600 is still my favorite budget GPU choice when it comes to 1080p.

I remember when I was younger I had the AMD A10-7800 and it would only get around 20-40 FPS on 1080p Lowest Counter-Strike Source bhop servers, the fact that you can get stuff that actively allows you to play games is so so good for the future generations.

The problem with Strix Halo is that it's likely too big to fit in an AM5 package, so it's likely going to be for laptops, mini PCs, thin and lights and handhelds. Though I do hope we see a cut down version that's not too horribly gimped on AM5.

Also, are those priced in CAD? Paying $240 for an RX 6400 is insane. You can buy those for about $100 on the used market and the 3050 6GB can easily be had for well under $200 for the full height models.

Hello Dawid, you can force Counter-Strike 2 to use the experimental Vulkan renderer on Windows by adding -vulkan to the launch arguments in its properties in your Steam library, it tends to have better support for older GPUs due to Vulkan being open-source.

Dawid I hope you see this response, but I have probally spent the 12 hours a day the last 3-4 days watching over the videos on your channel. I've had an extremely rough year over the last year (and a few extra months), being able to laugh while being a tech lover nerd myself has been a breath of fresh air, I found your channel awhile ago and dug in recently when I got sick, the last year has been so rough and I am now having something new to look forward to when you and your wife make new videos.
