How to Use Putty to SSH on Windows

FYI, right clicking inside the terminal = paste, the same as shift+insert. It's a little easier to remember in my opinion.

You can also hold ctrl+right click for an actual context menu.

Also, not sure if someone here said it before, but if you copied the password to paste into the terminal window, just click in the terminal window to ensure that it's highlighted, and where the cursor is blinking, simply right-click in that location - and that serves as the 'paste' function (as opposed to the shift+insert thing) 😉

Great video. I had issues where I pulled up the Putty key creator instead of the App. I had to go into my Windows Start Menu and find the correct app and the screen you were on.

I tried this many times it says login I put root hit enter. It asked for password I right clicked in the cursor I get "access denied ". What am I doing wrong????

Don't you need to set up a ppk file and use putty's keygen? I tried your style, it said, "No supported authentication methods available(server sent:publickey)"

Hey Tony thanks for these tutorials.Beginner here. I was watching your other tutorial about the free Oracle Cloud. I never used the public and private shh keys before. Anyway I could not login on the putty terminal. Keep getting a message back about the ssh keys? Thanks again.
