for sure i made a mess of a wainscoting (chair-rail) project that i filled my indented nails with light color putty, then sanded before staining a light color. darned if the puttied nails stuck out like a sore thumb, and even though i sanded beforehand so aggressively i got sick from wood dust inhalation there was wood putty residue discoloration one inch around each nail! what a bummer. it seems that my min wax couldn't take a stain one little bit- at least a light-colored stain. my mom says it looks rustic and is pleased. but i'll never do another chair-rail unless i'm painting it dark... i'm shamed and am through with staining 😞 in fact if i do one again i'm using structural calk and a minimum of nails by golly!

Thank you, but how do you repair and match real bamboo flooring when they have dings or dents in them? Bamboo flooring has these light to dark brown striations.

How can someone remove non-hardening wood putty from wood? I mistakenly applied minmax non-hardening wood putty to unfinish-wood. It wasn't until a few days later when I checked the putty and found it had not hardened/dried. Any advice would be most appreciated!!!

Thanks for sharing brotha. What filler would u recommend for a Caribbean mahogany? It don't have a stain or nothing. Just its natural color, that gorgeous reddish brownish purple-ish color. Im not a big wood restorer lol or nothing of the sort so it would need to be something i can buy to use, as opposed to making myself. And its just 2 little spots both smaller than an inch. Really just little chunks in the wood and theyre bothering the hell outta me. Please & Thanks in advance.
