This is really the key to improving your tennis: don't swing *hard*, i.e. tensing your muscles, swing *fast*, with a relaxed grip and arm to make use of the kinetic chain. So simple and yet so difficult to learn and implement. Outstanding coaching!

Yes! Love his coaching. Young coaches pay attention to this man. Y’all be talking about pronation, rotation blah blah too much science 😂

Very true. You won't believe after 5 years of learning and playing I am now getting this. It took a painful experience where my whole arm was in intense pain after a match that i said no, something is off. Talked to the number one player in our country and he said don't hit the ball hard cos I don't. I accepted and did some research found a great article. Yesterday I remembered hey Patrick has said this in one of his videos and basically got trolled. I quickly came back to look for any of his videos on it. . Hmmm tennis erh crazy game

my coach had me hitting forehands as if I was throwing the racquet-90percent of them went long, but it was the forehand motion that we were focusing on.I hit 100 forehands and was not sore like I typically am, becauseI was relaxed. Now I am having trouble relaxing but holding on to the racquet at same time.

Can this be applied Pickleball forehand

This is good but it’s for advanced players. You have to get the basic Kinect chain and weight transfer right first before you get onto this otherwise you’ll be arming the ball.

Only thing i'm curious is some unorthodox players i observe have pretty weired swing motion like Medvedev. If some players do outside the box and suit him, will you fix those swing motion? Another old case was roddick back then he switch the explosive swing to be conservative rally after 2003 i guess. Cuz some players have distinctive motion, just want to know fix or not fix if you're not teenager anymore? By the way, i have been through the same and when it practice it good but when the real matches, it's awkward most of the times .

Check out 1:14 he says: great job! But watch that she uses her shoulder. Respect that he sees the issue but you can't say great job when she's forces it with her shoulder. Question to you all: why does she use her shoulder? she is late on her extension

Not sure why the other Coach is not giving her these tips?

Wait... when I make a bad error and *occasionally* slap the oncoming ball into the open court with a totally relaxed arm and wrist... that's how I'm SUPPOSED to hit a forehand?!!

Mind blowing.

What forehand grip do you recommend eastern or semi-western?
