Nailed it. Econ is a tough look post grad, even after coming from a top public school. Way too much theory & little application

BComm here, Econ and Finance. Loved econ, focused on quant and financial economics. Has served me well in the CFA program.

I love your content man, keep it up. I just want to add 1 thing. Im from South Africa and for some reason our universities see a finance degree as really broad so instead of pure finance we have broken down majors such as investment management(which leads to CFA), financial management(which leads to CIMA) financial planning(which leads to CFP) and then accounting(which leads to CA) I would to see how you would rank these.

Loving your content you have given me so much tips for CFA and the world of finance which I never knew thanks👌

Logistic is the biggest department by people employed! Disagree on this one. Certain industries may not need as much logistic services, but anything from transport, tranformation and service industries will need it to optimize production (i.e. a call center, production plant, cosmetic such as L’Oréal...)

Yessir Finance #1. I have a degree in finance myself and I do think it's the best overall business degree. Accounting is tied at #1 imo if anything a close #2 to Finance but I'm bias. Economics for #3 and tbh anything else is a waste of time unless you really like it and you're set on it.

Also make sure you check under employment rate not just unemployment rates when picking your major

Great video! However I always thought all of these majors you listed fell under the Business Administration umbrella, then you of course have to choose what you want to focus on (Accounting, Finance, HR, etc.). But anyway, it's important to advise people to actually do something while they're in school. People should try to intern as much as possible or have some kind of real world experience in their chosen field before graduation. For me, I'm getting my BS in Business Administration with my concentration being in Management. I moved into the assistant manager role at my retail job and got my state notary public as well as a few other things. I'll have 3 years management experience when I graduate next year. AND!!! Working while in school shows companies your dedication and commitment to bettering yourself.

I am currently in my general first year of university. I am intending to pursue an Honours Accounting degree for the next 3 years in my uni. I am still unsure about the path I want to take. I am interested in Consulting, Venture Capital or maybe starting my own business. Do you think Accounting is the way to go or should I lean towards taking a Finance major?

Thanks for the answer!

not sure how marketing is higher than econ lol econ majors probably will have more job opportunities unless the marketing major has a masters

Accounting gets A tier bc not as sexy as finance? Are you a stripper or what? It's all about money. You ain't gonna success in finance if you can't read the financial and fundamentals, unless you are quant, which is more math/stats than pure finance if anything.
