"Accounting is probably the most boring degree, you stare at numbers and spreadsheets all day"

I heard with an accounting degree you can pretty much get any business related job but those other majors are limited.

Accounting is only boring if you don’t understand the utility of it - the problem with Universities is they don’t actually teach you why these skills are useful. Want to know how to pick companies to invest in? Accounting is essential to this. Want to audit companies to stop them from using dodgy account practices? Accounting is essential for this.

As someone who did both an accounting degree and also a BSC in economics and finance I say economics is more exciting

Accounting, Finance, Economics are the best in the business and have their degree of boredom.

Good video! I went to school for economics and currently work as an accounting analyst. If you’re unsure of where to go for college, just go for accounting. Most businesses prefer accountants over finance and Econ degrees simply because accountants deal with what happened to money directly while finance and Econ deals what they should do with their money. Confirming payments takes priority over projections. As an accountant, you’ll be doing plenty of pivot tables and projections regardless. All 3 majors can do what the others do, but accountants just make things easier for talent acquisition so I would just stick with an accounting degree. However, if you’re really motivated and good with networking, then the degree won’t even matter

I got my bachelors in math and am currently taking acounting courses to get employement. My advice for average individuals out there is please major in something that guarantees job placement dont just go to school for something general esp if ur average person. I also would not reccomend economics for the same reason.

I’m sorry, but economics?

Obtaining an economics degree serves as a means to make a favorable impression. It acts as an additional advantage, much like icing on a cake. It is advisable to pursue a bachelor's degree in fields such as finance, insurance, accounting, or business administration, and subsequently pursue a master's degree in economics to enhance your professional prospects. Just getting a bachelor’s degree can be comparable to a history degree. It sounds interesting and cool, but it won’t really get you anywhere. It’s just icing on the cake.

To me it doesn't have to always be safe, Take what you like and take risks if it doesn't work out try again. You passion and attitude us what matters.

economics can be pretty tedious too. My intermediate macroeconomics course was a whole other level of math I've never seen before. Econometrics looks pretty nuts too.

I don't recommend econ it's too theoretical, hardly company is hiring an "economist" so the most linear pathline is getting a masters and going back into teaching which takes years and years and you're stuck working at universities.
