Holly, you are amazing!!!! i just had my interview with Amazon as an architect and your tips came up exactly the way you said... she asked me for top 3 of the 14 leadership principles, and the example for short term compromise for long term results. I think I answered them accurately but watching your videos definitely change the direction...

My favourite interview tip is the STAR model. It find it helps me stay on track and avoid rambling!

I know this is old but it is critical that you think big. Yesterday our operations manager wanted to try something to reduce the impact on the flat sorter so they diverted it to the shipping sorter. It caused a huge mess down line. Like I explained to him is to look at the bottleneck of the flow process to a single sort filter per station just to see what impact that would have. Trying to divert all single small from the flats to the shipping sorter doesn’t improve over the whole of operation.

I had a bad experience with the Amazon interview process. My recruiter advise me to prep on the STAR method technique and behavioral questions. On the day of the phone interview the interviewer showed up 15 mins late and I could tell he wasn’t in the mood to interview. I was not asked any behavioral questions and grilled directly on technical questions. I contact the recruiter and gave her my input on my interview experience and she said she couldn’t do anything about it since she does not have the visibility to look at the notes from the interviewer.
