The BEST Civilization 6 Mods in 2024

Civilization 6 is a great strategy game but after releasing countless DLCs like Civ 6 Gathering Storm, Rise and Fall, the Platinum Edition, and now the complete Civilization VI Anthology - civ 6 can also be a bit of an overwhelming, bloated, or challenging experience, particularly for beginners to civ 6. Mods, the Steam Workshop, and the hugely creative Civ 6 modding community have come to save the day! Here are the best civ 6 mods, from gameplay enhancers, fixes, UI improvements and more, these civ 6 mods are the best mods for the game in 2023 as the new leader pass dlc launches. They are generally cosmetic and tend to leave the core experience mostly untampered with - the way I prefer to mod an experience.

I unfortunately can't cover every mod in this video, but here are a list of a few of my favourite mods highlighted here, mentioned as honorable mentions, or some that didn't quite make the cut this time but are still awesome experiences!

Another great feature of the detailed map tacks is that it shows if you can place a district on the chosen hex. Comes in very handy, since placement rules for districts like canals, baths and dams can be a bit tricky.

I refused to play these games my entire life. I'm 32. Have skipped them forever cause of the turn based aspect. Just always turned me away. Well, Steam just basically gave it away for $30 on sale from $209 so I said screw it. That was literally just 7 days ago. I'm up to 47 hours played, along with working 40-50 hour work weeks. HOOKED. Now here I am looking for mods. Lol.

quick warning for quick deals: my friends and I have found that Quick Deals causes desyncs in multiplayer. Movable Districts also caused a desync when someone moved their district after getting the congress vote for culture bomb, as the district movement triggered the bomb on their screen but not on anyone else's.

As Someone who bought Civ 6 when it came out, but then never really got into it and just picked up all the DLC's somewhat recently. This has been helpful as I get ready to give Civ 6 another chance. I was a big fan of Civ V back in the day. Played it a fair amount in college even though it almost melted my laptop. I really do miss the old Civ V art style and leader screens.

Just a clarification, map tacks are default in civ 6, the mod detailed map tacks just implemented the easy view of adjacent ''ea the +5''

In all honesty, if only Civ-VI had better and more strategic AI, the game would have a lot more replayability for another 5 years or so

Overall, still a really good game, even more so with its active modding community

I never got why everyone loves the civ 5 art style so much, everything looks exactly like a dirty rock, thats why I got 6 first chance I got. just because its boring doesn't mean its realistic, and even if it did, if I wanted realism, I'd go Outside.
