I use a clay bar on my windshield after cleaning with a glass cleaner. It removes a lot of surface impurities making the windshield very smooth.

There are two things I've learned on this channel I now use in combination with each other. The shaving cream method on the inside; anti-fog. The wax method on the outside; anti-bug/rain. I use it on the visor of my motorcycle helmet, it solves a world of problems! Thanks!

Did you do this? If not, I would do exactly what the video says. If it still happens then get new windshield wipers. The combo of a waxed windshield and new wipers should fix your problem. If not, message me and we can try something else. Let me know how it works!

I heard from a few people that the clay-bar works great! Makes sense. I will have to try it out! Thanks!!!!

Chris is just like me. Young and modivated. We may be the same age lol but anyways, I don’t like stealerships and rip-off shops so I try to fix my own car. Got a 1997 Toyota Camry LE as first car. Passed driving test with it. Just did a oil change and air filter replacement, New front brake pads and calipers, New radiator, New spark plugs, New front end and power steering fluid, New brake lines and brake fluid, New battery and alternator, New catalytic converter and exhaust system and O2 sensors. No this car is not a money pit but these were all original parts to the car minus the battery and tires. Next up will be a transmission service and rear drum brakes/hardware along with bulb replacements in dash/accessory lights. 200, 000 miles and onward. I have a family mechanic that helps me if I get stuck. Car was purchased at around 140, 000 miles. Chris thanks for the videos man. I hope I can meet up with you someday.

Try to get the windshield to be at least 50F because the wax gets difficult to remove if the surface is cold. In the winter, use the reflective covers that you put on your dash to protect it. It will add heat. Also, you can move your car in the sun to heat the surface up, then move it into the shade to wax.

Nu-finish works pretty well, Rain-x destroys all rubber it comes in contact with. Clean your windows really well use Nu-finish and get some great quality silicone windshield wipers it will be worth the investment and like the results.

I was going 60-65mph on the highway. I dont have a problem with wiper-float... The wax creates a smooth surface but doesnt cause the wipers to skip or float. I have been doing this for a while on multiple cars including my Vette and it works great. One day when you wax your car, give it a try. If it doesnt work, just clean it off with dawn soap. I think you will like it!

Good tip! I might make another video and I will include that tip with the wiper-blades! Thanks!

Have used this basic strategy myself have not been as diligent in cleaning it first. When I have used the ammonia based cleaner, I have not rinsed it with clear water and then dried it. My step went from windshield cleaner directly to the wax. Another step you enforce is the use of a microfiber cloth. I agree but have never done it. Thanks for the instruction and my diligence will be stepped up a notch.

After watching the video of your traveling on the highway, I get the impression that Rain X might still work better. Also, I wouldn't use anything but microfiber towels on any auto surface including glass. I used to use paper towels on glass and after about maybe 7 or 8 years I started to notice scratches. That being said, I really appreciate your videos. Thanks and keep em' coming!

Hey there Chris Fix, I saw this video not too long ago and thought I'd give it a try. So while I was detailing my truck (2001 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4) with some Turtle Wax Ice spray wax I went ahead and spray waxed the front windshield and side windows of my truck. Then I got to test it in a big rainstorm we had earlier today and let me tell you, it really did the trick on beading up the water from my windshield. Thanks for the tip man!!!

This is a throwback to the days when we did not know to importance of microfibre towels.
