How to Super Clean Your Windshield

Learn how to get your windshield super clean! The windows of your car or truck are what you look out of and it is important that they are clean. When you clean the windshield with my method the rain beads up and rolls off the windshield leaving great visibility. Bugs and bird poop come off really easy with one wipe of a towel. Even ice wont stick to the glass so no more scraping ice on those cold days!

1. Clean with glass cleaner and microfiber towel 0:54
2. Use clay bar with warm water 2:07
3. Clean again with glass cleaner and microfiber towel 3:12
4. Dry with absorbent microfiber towel 3:39
5. Wax windshield 3:58
6. Buff off the wax with microfiber towel 5:22
7. Buff off with a finishing towel 6:26
8. Clean off wiper blades with glass cleaner and microfiber towel 7:33

My observations after detailing cars for years and trying various waxes... Wax tends to leave bigger water drops that join together and are harder to see through because they are less uniform and larger. They also sit on the window larger because they are bigger and it takes for force for the air to blow them off while driving. Rain-x makes the droplets go into smaller beads that are more consistent in size and spacing and it is easier to see through the droplets, and they blow off easier while driving. This is just my observation on using a few different types of waxes. (Perhaps different types of waxes produce different results.) Based on my observations rain-x provides better visibility.

One of the most important lessons you can teach a new driver is how CRITICAL having a clean windshield is (all windows actually). The difference in visibility is unbelievable. It also reduces eye strain during long drives - especially at night and with how much brighter headlights have been getting.

And using wax or Rain-X can save lives. One of my friends was driving into NYC across the Pulaski Skyway and a truck kicked up muddy water. Had his windshield not been treated with RainX, he almost certainly would have run into a concrete barrier and gotten killed.
