Omega 3 fatty acids: Many studies suggest omega 3s can help with Meibomian gland dysfunction and dry eye symptoms in general. However, there are also studies that show no benefit. Despite the mix of study results, many dry eye specialists do recommend improving the diet and omega 3 supplements for dry eye and overall eye health (good for the retina as well).
Note: Dry eye syndrome can be complicated by other forms of ocular surface disease and it is always best to consult with your local eye care professional if you are experiencing any eye pain or vision changes.

About this video: So what is meibomian gland dysfunction? In this video I share different strategies for mgd eye treatment that are often recommended for people struggling with evaporative dry eye. If you are looking for mgd treatment at home or looking into other medical treatments for dry eye, then this video may help you. If you are struggling with severe meibomian gland disease then it is important to follow up with a specialist in either optometry or ophthalmology that is trained in dry eye syndrome management.
