As either a first mirrorless purchase, or as an upgrade to the a5100/6000/6300 this looks pretty exciting. People seemed dead set on getting an a7000 announcement and judged the a6400 based on that, instead of what they saw in front of them. It's fine to want all the bells and whistles, but Sony needs to keep their entry/mid-level stuff up to date as well.

Coming from the a6000, I think the a6400 is a wonderful upgrade as an in-between camera for the better A/F & colours before I move on to their full frame line up cuz yknow, it takes time to save up and justify dropping $2K on the A7M3 w/o lenses!

At $900, a6400 looks like a worthy consideration for a gimbal/ b-cam. My main shooter is A7iii, and so far I was considering another A7iii as the b-cam. Having seen in your review, that there’s no overheating or recording limit, I think it’s best and most economical option (so long a sit stick with Sony, which I may not).

I moved up to the a6500 from the a6300 for it's IBIS. Thanks for the test you did here. You can clearly tell the difference between the camera that has it and the one that doesn't even though the a6500's IBIS isn't the best on the market. Any help to clean up shakey footage is a huge plus.

The a6400 is still an awesome camera and I would have been pretty surprised if it included IBIS to be honest. They need to save the best goodies for their top of the line APS-C camera. Curious to see if people in the market for new go for the a6400 or the a6500 right now. I am sure the flippy screen is going to help it no doubt but I still love the a6500 and it's been one of the only cameras I have owned where my need to by something else has gone away.
