Lots of Youtubers out there with good product comparison information but your sense of humor and detail is spot on for my taste! Keep up the great work!

The a6400 definitely gave warmer tones and I always love a warmer color finish. Your videos are so pleasant to listen to and you make it so entertaining and informative. You definitely know your cameras. Thank you for resolving a lot of indecision. 👍🏻

Having two identical cameras was important to me. The ZV-E10’s price made it possible. It’s such a pain to dismount and remount my camera from my rig. So one sits permanently in my shooting room. The other is available at anytime.

I have owned the Sony a6400 as my first entry level mirrorless camera and I can say I’ve learned so much with it. I plan to go to full frame sometime this year but I will definitely keep my a6400 as a travel camera till it dies I love that thing

Great stuff, Mark. Based nearly exclusively on your videos I have migrated almost all the way to Sony (after decades shooting professionally with one brand). I have both of these bodies (primarily for video), and the A7iv and a bunch of FF lenses are coming for hybrid work. I am very happy (and very grateful to you)!

Seriously, for all the critique that the ZV-E10 gets, it’s such a compelling value proposition. To make the ‘build quality’ feel better, I can recommend the Smallrig cage with built in arca swiss plate. For $70 it adds significant utility.

a6400 user here - thank you for putting this together. I really am considering the ZV-E10 since I really do more video now, and need a light/small as possible setup. And the price... with gyro data... OOOF! Subbed+

Liked it a lot! To the point. No generic lo-fi music, no fancy stupid shots or transitions. A lot of character, the lack of which makes a bunch of other comparison videos extremely boring and skippable. Your likeness to Christopher Nolan only adds to the charm.

I use both cameras mainly for photo with prime lenses. I didn't want to change lenses all the time so I choose ZV-E10 as a cheapest APSC body [with sale] for my secondary lens. ZV is less ergonomic for photo, also has only one MR slot and few other minor limitations, but have even more effective eye/face AF than a6400. It can be used for photography only, but one really annoying drawback of ZV for photographer is lack of ISO AUTO Min. Shutter Speed feature you have mentioned. It forces user for constant controling of exposure settings even in A or M+AutoISO mode. It's pure software feature and could be easily updated but unfortunately, for some reason, Sony ignore users here.

Thank You So Much Mark. I am a rising Youtuber and I have been using my iPhone 14 Pro Max to shoot my videos and it seems my battery health has been reducing gradually and sometimes i dont have enough storage for videos. I was actually looking for a better camera for my youtube and was finding difficulties in choosing between the A6400 and the ZV-E10 but as soon as I came across your video. It helped me and i realised what i want. I am going to buy the ZV E10. Thank you sooo CONTENT.

Am seriously considering the FX30. I have put off upgrading about as long as I can, and it seems to fit what I do and offers a real upgrade from the old sensor tech in the earlier cameras. And my YouTube revenue will allow me to purchase a lens cleaning kit for it. Cheers

Currently contemplating one of these two cameras as a replacement for my old NEX 5.
I've been leaning toward the ZV-E10, as I do a lot of low light photography, and from what I can gather it has better low light capabilities with regard to the autofocus.
Though I worry about it not being weather sealed...still unsure which way to go.
I'm intent on staying within Sony's sphere as I only have E-Mount lenses in my kit, so perhaps I just need to round up some other comparable models in the Sony space as well before I decide.

Great video, Mark, I am sure. About to watch. Just bought the ZV-E10 to launch my Youtube channel and you've been such a help with camera and lens selection. Got my own "little dougie" :)

zve10 is a budget friendly great little camera. only thing i dont like about it is that 1080p footgae is worst than what im used to. so shoot in 4k instead, great image quality..

I literally JUST ordered the E10. It's my first interchangeable lens camera. I wanted to up my game from the phone camera with better lenses and I thought this camera was a good step in the right direction for a beginner. I hate that it is not weather proof, but for the price I think that I can live with that for now.

I have owned both for some time now and for the exact reasons you said. The zve10 is my studio camera used for live streaming and and my videos and never moves. The a6400 goes on my slider or second view and used outside and I have a zv1 as my overhead and I use that as my vlogging cam along with gopro 11.

I really liked this presentation. Clear, well-organised, straight-to-the-point…. and, of course, your presentation style - which is itself a model of excellence (I’m serious! I couldn’t be more serious!).
