The Dark Future of Your YouTube Feed

YouTube is now grappling with the concept of fully automated AI produced content. Its hard for some of us to think about, but the future of fully automated start to finish YouTube video production is right around the corner and the effects it will have on your content feed, and browsing experience are enormous.

Today I wanted to discuss what seems to be an early warning sign of what's to come... while acknowledging that there very well may be an expiration date on the viability of YouTube as a Human Creator dominated platform.

I hate that if I search something, YouTube automatically thinks that's all I'm interested in. I have to go through extra steps to delete history.

We are already seeing this. Some months ago Youtube started filling up with hundreds of fake "science" channels like "Space Voyager" that pump literally 10 videos every single day narrated by AI voices. All their videos are complete clickbait and have very similar titles and thumbnails. They also use the faces of Joe Rogan, Michio Kaku and Neil deGrasse Tyson over and over on every video to make the content seem more credible. Their channels all have very similar generic names and logos too. Absolutely horrible low quality content, or slop, as you said. It's only a matter of time for others to follow suit.

The problem is, if the AI realizes the term "Real Human" gets more clicks, it will use that in its own marketing even if it is false.

It’s already made Google image searches impossible, you search for anything and around a quarter will be AI generated images with the same tags.

Imagine the absolute brain rot that's going to be children's entertainment. Like the slop that people let their kids watch now is awful but imagine an AI that's sole purpose is to create the most addictive children's content

I just want to go back being a teenage at the 80's. I hate all this weird, dystopian, horrible world. This is not what the future was supposedly going to be.

It's... pretty depressing watching something I grew up with (the internet) basically become a corrupted mess. filled to the brim with greedy corporations, Ai/crypto bros, scams, sanitization, extremism.. etc.with no signs of going away. The internet also has condensed down to basically a max of 6 sites with barely anyone adventuring outside of those 6. Each year, the internet seems 10x worse than what it was the previous year and it makes me wish the past 20-ish years was all a dream because I'd love to wake up in the early 2000's where everything that went wrong on the internet in the past 20-ish years didn't happen yet.

The amount of youtube channels that have already popped up, all "voiced" by AI with similarly broken captions by an AI interpreter recently.. I stopped using Youtube on my phone because I got sick of all the slop.

I cant stand social media now. Twitter is pure ads. It's so bad that the only way to view it from a pc with a blocker. You really can't use the internet at all without a blocker. I hate using my phone.

i feel bad for both old folks, and the very young. They wont be able to distinguish what's real and what's not.
