Spot on video. Been saying the same things for months to people. Your job is not at risk. It WILL make your job easier especially over time. The problem we face is employers taking advantage of developers further, devaluing their work which would be totally unjustified. I can now work faster. That doesnt mean you get to pay me less or make me put out more work faster. Make sure you guys make those points clear. Because even with AI they still cant build what you can.

Really good video - So few people who are talking about AI can speak to it from experience such as you. You are bang on that AI will not make a dumb person instantly smart.

You can use GPT to make bigger applications, just not in one shot.

You'll go though many iterations, back and forth, brain storming the structure, and saving it into a seperate file as you develop solutions.

You just keep breaking it down further and further, till you have a detailed map.

Then you ask it to write the function, you test the function, iterate through any errors, tweaking it's solutions and feeding it back, until you have a good function.

Then you ask it for concise documentation on that function, and save that.

You can then feed it the documentation for that scope, so it knows it can call that function in the future.

It's also OK at refactoring. If you realize two functions are doing parts of the same thing, you can feed it both functions and ask it to factor out the part that's duplicated, and it might need some tweaks, but it can save a bunch of time.

My personal experience Algorithms (A.I.) has only been used against me to mircomanage and make my job more difficult. My employer used algorithms to analyze sales calls as people called in routing the easier sales to the most experienced sales people because they would be more likely to close a sale. Now in customer service it seems like if you take a day off, even if it's scheduled they route the more difficult/angry/complicated problems to you when you return. Punishment for calling in sick or even taking a day off. I can see a hundred ways it could make my job easier but instead they use it to enslave us.

What you say about AI is correct, but it does save time, and will get better. Also, if it gets better, and 1 coder can do the work of 3 coders, this might affect the job market.

that's what I try to say when everywhere I saw everyone is just making videos like AI going to replace jobs and trying to spread false information and people getting afraid of this. AI is doing many things no doubt and it will replace the way of doing job but not the human...

All the AI job snatching videos I watch are calling sunshine and rainbows for the future of coders.. Given how fast AI is advancing though, cant say I feel the same. Especially for Noobs. Hope Im wrong
