I'm 46 years old this year and I recall my father even till this day constantly telling me how he saw them live and how amazing they were. The Blues is what gives my father and I a father and son connection and Paul Butterfield certainly has a lot to do with that connection.

I've been working on Butterfield's licks for years now. I love his style. I hear that he was classically trained in music, and what's most amazing is that he played the harp upside down and right to left!

Hey, ...gotta be the best. I started listening to Paul Butterfield when I was about 16 yrs old & I am now 67 yrs old & learning to play the harmonica.

Good morning Cal Vid 5:46 in Michigan. I just listened to your clip and I love that you sharing it with us. I heard Paul Butterfield sing the song In Chicago just by accident when I was downstairs doing my work out and I loved him. That’s all I knew about him until I heard you send out this clip and I started looking him up. He’s actually got some great music going on. Thank you as Always 👍👍👍👍👍👍

I saw these guys in a little club called the Bear in Huntington beach, Ca. in 1966. My friends and I were 16 yrs. old (underage), but they let us in anyway. Nobody ever played the blues harp like Paul Butterfield. Bloomfield was dialled in, and the whole band was tight as could be. They were so damn cool.

Now once I went to Mr. Fox's apartment where he lived at.
I saw a stereo system.
I asked him if he had any Paul Butterfield Blues Band albums.
"Yes. Look under B!!"
Mr. Fox said.
He pulled out a Paul Butterfield Blues Band album, which was their first album.
I put the record on, and the record dropped down on to the turntable, and the needle set in place on the record. The first cut started playing, which was Born In Chicago.

Don't freak out!!" Mr. Fox said.
"What kind of music does the Paul Butterfield Blues Band play??" I said.
"Blues!! Blues so electrified, it sounds like rock!!!" Mr. Fox said.
-Mark Weintraub.
