We got our puppy around 3-4 months old, we will feed her twice a day morning and dinner and she will clean her bowl in seconds (keep in mind we are guilty for giving her treats not alot but often), year old later she stops eating food quickly or all together, so we did a couple experiments each day. Mixed in toppers, offer her treats, even tricked her by putting food in oven for a few seconds like she's getting gourmet food all were successful. So couple days we decided to just feed her nothing but Kibble no treats or tricks at all and leave the bowl there, so it seems like she will only finish her food around dinner/bedtime, so i guess her hunger got the best of her. So we think its her way of saying "maybe if i wait long enough i will get the good stuff" practically guilt training you. So we just used a kibble replenish feeder. We were cautious at 1st when we 1st got her in using a kibble replenish feeder, because she was a 4 month old puppy who didnt know how to stop eating and regulate her portions. Year later seems like she has grown and figured it out.

One thing we always do as well, make sure your dog eats before you start to prepare your own meals. Once they smell people food, all bets are off. Usually one of our dogs is a good eater and one is picky. I do hand feed the picky one because I just want to get the nourishment down him--and if I leave the dish, the other one will eat it. It really, for me, is a small price to pay to be sure he eats.

My dog has been a picky eater his whole life. Ive bought him every food and every treat imaginable. He is like that under all conditions. When he is anxious, happy, sad, social, etc. Ive taken him to the vet many times and they always say he is fine.

I walk him alot. He is active. I dont undertand it where he gets the energy from

Great video! What are Bailey’s symptoms for Gastrointestinal Issues? Is there a specific test to know if your dog has GI issues? Thank you!

Hi! My dog is 1 year 4 months and when she was young she just stopped eating dog food then I gave here our table food and she became more picky and I once again introduce her to dog food. This pass few days she ate it but just a little I mix it with here normal food so that she will be familiar again. Still she doesn't finish here meal huhu. I also feed my dog 2x a day lunch and evening. Is it okay? Thanks for response in advance.

She's still energetic just the appetite for eating is giving me headache

Ate, i’m currently putting my dog on a food strike so he eats his food. how did you find out your dog has GI issues?

I have gone to the vet to get my poodle mix checked as well because she's a picky eater and everything was normal. I'm currently on day 1 of giving them the tough love of leaving the food out for 10 mins and taking it away, and finding out that my dog would vomit midday. If everything is normal health-wise with my dog, is it ok to be more hardheaded with them by sticking to the strict 10-min rule despite them vomiting mid-day? She also poops and pees like normal and drinks water but just doesn't eat her kibbles HAHAHa

.thanks for this. i think i may have to consider the one about GI check-up. i got a question. is it necessary to weigh the food you give to your dog? like putting it in a scale or something? i never had a scale to weigh Archie's food. sometimes i placed too much (he didn't finish it), sometimes i think i placed a little bit less coz he when he finished his food, it looked like the bowl has been already washed. hehe

I don’t even know what to do for my Pom/terrier mix. I have thrown more dog food in the garbage than I would like to admit. She does have behavioral issues. We tried 2 training class but we dropped out with no progress because she would not take a high value treat. The trainer got on my case about the kind of treats I had and I told her it was cooked chicken that she normally begs for! I was so embarrassed 🙈 by the trainer!! I have also tried so many toppers with no luck.

I have a pomeranian, he's incredibly picky when it comes to food.

He used to able to eat kibble, rice, meat without any problem but once he reached 4 to 5 months old, his appetite changed. If the food was frozen for a day or two and we reheated it, he won't eat. He doesn't like pork or beef but eats only duck or chicken or sometimes even bacon (bacon is a bit fatty so in some rare occasion we give him).
It wasn't easy to feed him dinner or lunch because he chooses what time he would like to eat. Unlike other dogs, when he's hungry, he digs his bowl indicating he wants food. When we do give him food, he sniffs it first before eating, if it's not fresh he won't eat it. So when we do change it to fresh meat, even then he won't eat it... We would have to change the type of meat everytime until he get what he wants. It's not consistent, he'd rather go on a hunger strike than eat the food he was given...
Sometime he does eat it if he fed him by hand but that's obviously not a good habit and so we try not to do it much but then again, we don't want him to waste food and it's not healthy for him to starve...
He hates any type of dry treats or wet dog food that you'd get from a can. This makes it very hard to train him without treats... We tried so Many different and out of the 30 product we bought, 2 of them he actually liked and it's not like he extremely excited for them like what I see with other dogs so training him wasn't easy... I found out that best way to train was using dried mango or a bit of ice cream (not much).
